My Top Five Anime for the Spring Season

Hi Everybody!  I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on Age of Ultron for MC Tuesday.  Have you seen the trailer for Infinity War?  I cannot wait.  That aside,  April is going to bring us some new anime to consume.  After reading some articles and watching some trailers, I’ve compiled a list of anime I am ready to watch.  I can’t say I’m eager because the only one I am truly looking forward to seeing is my number one pick.  But, the other four looks like something worth watching (or, at least I hope so).  But before I reveal the five, let me shout out a couple of honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions

Megalo Box (April 6):

I like the “Rock’em -Sock’em Robot” arms.  This show looks like the action may be exciting inside the ring.  The question is how the story will unfold outside of the ring.

Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari (April 12):

I’m interested to know why these characters are fighting.  The trailer shows a bunch of characters.  Are they all going to be there until the end?  With so many characters, will be able to care about any of them?

Hinamatsuri (April 6):

This one almost made the list but others had more exciting trailers.  I’m curious to see the powers the girl possesses and how they will be used in the show.

Top Five

Now that we have the honorable mentions out of the way, let’s get to the meat and potatoes.

5. Mahou Shoujo Site (Magical Girl Site) (April 7):

When I began reading the synopsis for this, I thought to myself “Oh, no!  Not another MMORPG thing”.  But as I continued reading, it is not what I was thinking.  After viewing the trailer, it looks like a lot of entertaining crazy.  And we all know how much I love crazy female characters.

4. Persona 5: The Anime (April 8)

It should go without saying the P5 is going to be on the list.  I’m a huge fan of the game.  I’m wondering if they are going to capture the same cool vibe the game offers.  I hope they tell different stories than those in the game.  I’m playing the game, I do not need to watch more of the same situations.

3. Shiyan Pin Jianting (April 9)

This has the potential to be an extremely fun anime.  You have these modified kids with mad scientist parents.  I’m looking forward to seeing what type of hijinks the kids will encounter.  Who will be their rivals?  The government?  Other kids?  Scientists?

2. Nil Admirari no Tenbin (April 8)

Originally, this show was going to be around number four.  But then I watched the trailer.  There’s a scene in the trailer that makes me ask, “Why did this happen?”.  Once a trailer has me asking questions, it is imperative to watch the show to get the answers.

1. Batman Ninja

I can sum up why this is number one in one word: Joker.  I am not a Batman fan (the Injustice comic made me hate Batman…what a douche).  But I love the Joker.  He is crazy for absolutely no reason.  He is deliciously sinister to a point that it makes me giddy.  When he is at his craziest, he is pure id (just the instinct that drives his mania).  I cannot wait to see him in this OVA as a ninja.  Joker was made for anime.  As for Batman…whatever.

Well, there you have it.  What are you looking forward to watching?  Let me know!  I will see you this Sunday for the last Sunday Drama (at least for a while).
